Participation Guidelines

I. Exhibition categories

The following list serves as a basic guideline for the submission of material:

  • visual identity (visual style for events, institutions, exhibitions, companies or places, and its applications: logotypes, posters, printed matter, manuals, websites, promotion, merchandising, etc.)
  • book editions and exhibition catalogues*
  • digital media (websites, motion design, animation, movie titles)
  • posters*
  • newspapers, magazines and other periodicals*
  • information design (orientation and information systems, signage, three-dimensional items)*
  • type design (new typefaces, type foundries, samples of use)
  • packaging design*
  • other projects (flyers, brochures, advertisements, calendars)*

* with regards to the focus of the International Exhibition of Brno Biennial 2016 any one-off or solitary items (that is projects consisting of one or two applications) won’t be included in the selection. Illustrations that are not integral parts of a book or a magazine (for example, loose graphic sheets and original illustrations) are not eligible.

II. Application form

The application form is available online from October 2015 and is free of charge. Exhibits are submitted solely electronically. The authors of selected works will be asked to send the artefacts for the exhibition during March 2016.

III. Number of submissions

Each participant may submit 1 project only. (A project is understood as a bundle consisting of several applications, items.)

IV. Deadline

The deadline for the online application form is 15 January 2016.

V. Returns

The submitted works will not be returned or insured unless the registrant fully covers all associated costs beforehand. The exhibited work will become part of the Graphic Design Collection of the Moravian Gallery, and each exhibitor will receive a certi cate of participation.

VI. Catalogue

The organiser is freely entitled to use any documentation submitted, make reproductions and/ or video recordings of the work in order to produce the catalogue, promote the exhibition, and for educational purposes. The catalogue will be available to each participant at a 50% discount.
